The Business of Show Institute, LLC (The BOSI) is an information publishing company, and interactive, virtual, entertainment industry training center, established and operated from Los Angeles, California. The BOSI's mission is to provide market intelligence, and useful and actionable systems (developed from real world, hands-on experience, not class room theory) to aspiring Hollywood artists. And finally, to provide unprecedented access to established entertainment industry professionals. It is The BOSI's intention to serve as THE port of entry into Hollywood, an Ellis Island, to talented and hopeful individuals seeking to penetrate the industry, and strategically position themselves to transition from aspiring artists to successful entertainment professionals. Marvin V. Acuna, Co-Founder
During his professional career he has gained exposure to every aspect of the television and film industries, including but not limited to development, production, acquisitions, financing, syndication, and packaging. He has reviewed, summarized, and appraised the marketability of submitted motion picture screenplays, television scripts, treatments, and independent films. Most recently, Acuna produced the feature film "The Great Buck Howard" starring John Malkovich, Colin Hanks, Emily Blunt, Steve Zahn, and Tom Hanks. The film premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival to nine sold out screenings and rave reviews. The picture was the center piece film for the 2008 Seattle Film Festival and the closing gala film for the 2008 Cinevegas Film Festival. It will make its nationwide theatrical debut March of 2009. He is currently in post production on the feature documentary "Leaving Vogue Moran" - a story about a 43 year old man who confronts his fears by embarking on a journey of his past, and transforms his feelings of self loathing to self acceptance. Up next, Marvin is set to produce "Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story" based on the Memoir: Ordeal by Linda Lovelace and Mike McGrady and "The Year of Wonders" starring Abigail Breslin. Additionally, Acuna recently set up the feature film "Class Action" starring George Lopez at Disney and sold the graphic novel, "The Art of War", to Harper in a pre-emptive bid soon to be a major motion picture. Other feature credits include, "Two Days" starring Paul Rudd, Adam Scott and Donal Logue, "Touched" starring Jenna Elfman, Bruce Davison, and Samantha Mathis, and "How Did It Feel" starring Blair Underwood and Natasha Gregson Wagner. In Television, Acuna has "Complications" set up at FOX, Tim Bogart's "Expedition" at HBO & "Walter Reed Medical" at FX, and finally he's in pre-production on "Girly Magazine Party" from Dennis Klein, creator of HBO's "The Larry Sanders Show". Mr. Acuna is a paid professional speaker and lectures nationwide on the Business of Show. Additionally, Acuna serves as a trusted confidant and advisor to numerous artists, equity financiers and companies.
